One Song Teacher Training - Getting to The Source of Things One Song Teacher Training is designed to empower leaders to go out and teach the sacred. Our focus will be yoga, but whatever your passion or calling may be, this training will qualify you to teach what you love at your fullest potential. Regardless of any previous trainings, courses, or workshops you have taken, this course provides a completely unique opportunity to uncover your sacred self in order to become the teacher and guide you want to be. Recognizing that our planet is going through an incredible time of transition, our intention with this training is to help you to manifest the strengths and skills that will best serve the Uni-Verse. In order to accomplish this, some of the topics covered will be:
  • Anatomy
  • Art of Mudra™
  • Asana ~ many traditions
  • Chanting and Kirtan
  • Chakras
  • Energy Awareness
  • History and Philosophy of Yoga
  • Global Consciousness
  • Meditation
  • Sanskrit
In this training, you will find yourself surrounded by students and teachers from all walks of life. There will be an open format for discussion and inclusion, learning from each other, learning from within, and true support throughout the training and after you graduate! Our One Song graduates will be able to take this training into many professional fields ~ yoga, bodywork, corporate environments, etc. We will also be developing a referral page where graduates can advertise their practices, as well as keep in touch with other grads! Continuing education will be available through various workshops taught at One Song and Yoga Bhoga, as well as specialty workshops taught by our amazing line up of visiting teachers, such as: Anodea Judith, Max Strom, Paul Grilley, and Freedom and Leela.

Schedule & Course Requirements ~
This teacher training requires a 15 month time commitment.
There are 9 months of prerequisite preparations, including: consistent practice, readings, and monthly workshop attendance (or equivalent) starting in July 2009.
Fulfillment of all prerequisites is required in order to commence the 6 month intensive in April 2010, which completes the 200hr YA course.

Practice
~
A suggested minimum of 9 months of Mat Time at One Song or Yoga Bhoga prior to the start of the Teacher Training in April 2010, with a recommended average of 4 classes per week.

Before beginning the 6 month intensive course, each student must attend 145 classes according to the following breakdown:

- at least 55 classes at One Song
- at least 4 classes each in the following styles, taught at YogaBhoga or any other studio:
  • Yin (can be with Yvonne or Teresa at YogaBhoga)
  • Vinyasa (can be with Amy at YogaBhoga)
  • Kundalini (can be with Chloe at YogaBhoga)
  • Classical Hatha (can be with Meghan at YogaBhoga)
  • 4 classes each in at least 3 of the following styles, taught at studios other than YogaBhoga
  • Bikram, Ashtanga, Shivananda, Anusara, Iyengar, AcroYoga, any other style to be discussed with Denise or Heather
Notes on Practice Requirements:
Workshops are in addition to this class count, and will not conflict with the class times (50hrs)

Whether or not you are doing this training to become a yoga teacher, the 145 yoga class prerequisite must be completed. Regardless of what you want to teach, going to classes is necessary in order to fully participate in the intensives and workshops, and to witness and learn from all different types and experience levels of teaching/teachers.

$2200 - covers cost for all intensives and workshops, does not include classes and books

installment plan - make monthly payments of $150 to cover entire cost (to be paid in full by April 16th, 2010)
pay-as-you-go program - pay for workshops along the way and then pay remainder of $2200 balance by April 16th, 2010
ability to test out of workshops on case by case basis; if you test out, you will be charged 50% of workshop price to pay for assessment
with registration and full payment, you will receive a discount for unlimited passes at YogaBhoga and One Song - 15% off of either one, or 20% off of Unlimited Card to both
Refund policy
NO refunds available after commencing course; 50% refund available before March 1, 2010
